Pretty cool, often thought of buying some scale models of hit and miss, steam engines and sterling engins, but idk where I'd go with them lol.

Few years ago I went to an auction to buy some, same as shown, just bigger, maybe 10" motor. I told my wife I'd go to $1000. Bidding started at $1200, so I don't have one.

You used to able to grab a real one at a steam show auction for $1500.

We build steam engines here for a student machine shop class. Have to run them on compressed air since safety will not us to have a non certified pressure vessel with a fire under it to produce steam to run them. Picture is of an old one that has been through the mill and back. Very simple but the kids get an introduction how to use milling machines and lathes.

What are you using for assembly lube?

2 stroke oil. I also ran mixed fuel
In mine.

I have a bunch of 25:1 mixed up was going to use it and see how it goes.

Instructions say 2 turns out on the carb. I was like ½ turn out. That’ll save you some messing around.
