Few years ago I went to an auction to buy some, same as shown, just bigger, maybe 10" motor. I told my wife I'd go to $1000. Bidding started at $1200, so I don't have one.
 
We build steam engines here for a student machine shop class. Have to run them on compressed air since safety will not us to have a non certified pressure vessel with a fire under it to produce steam to run them. Picture is of an old one that has been through the mill and back. Very simple but the kids get an introduction how to use milling machines and lathes.
